Hall and Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 locomotives in the engine shed.
Dominating the picture on the right is Modified Hall (Hawksworth - 6959 Class) 6998 Burton Agnes Hall, built January 1949, with in the left distance 5900 Hinderton Hall (Collett), built March 1931.

Note the longer, nearer vertical, arrangement of the outside steam pipes of the later engine. The Modified Hall had plate frames throughout, rather than bar frame extensions (in the cylinder area of the original Hall). They also had plate frame, rather than bar frame, front bogies with an increased wheelbase to 7ft. 2in and a revised cylinder and smoke-box saddle design.
